Attention Students and Families Planning to Tour Schools in Europe and the UK in 2025! 🌍✈️

Starting in 2025, new travel requirements will apply for visiting Europe and the UK. If you’re planning to tour schools, it’s essential to apply for travel authorizations in advance!

The EU ETIAS visa still does not have a concrete launch date, although it is expected to be in the first half of 2025. The UK ETA will be coming into effect on January 8th, 2025.

Here’s what you need to know:

    1. EU Travel: ETIAS Authorization
The EU will require an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) for travelers from visa-exempt countries, including the U.S.

    Steps to Apply for ETIAS:

    – Check Eligibility: Visit the official ETIAS website (https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en).
    – Complete the Application: Provide your passport info, travel plans, and answer security questions.
    – Pay the Fee: €7 for applicants aged 18-70; free for younger or older applicants.
    – Wait for Approval: Most applications are approved within minutes, but some may take longer.
    – Travel with Authorization: Your ETIAS is valid for up to 3 years or until your passport expires.

    2. UK Travel: ETA Authorization
The UK will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for travelers from visa-free countries starting in 2025.

Steps to Apply for UK ETA:

    – Visit the UK Government’s Website: (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta)
    – Fill Out the Online Form: Provide your passport details, travel plans, and personal information.
    – Pay the Fee: Approx. £10 per application.
    – Receive Confirmation: Approval typically arrives within 48-72 hours.
    – Travel with Confidence: Your ETA will be linked to your passport and valid for up to 2 years or until your passport expires.

    Plan Ahead!

Processing times may vary, so apply well before your trip. Having the correct authorization ensures a smooth and stress-free experience when exploring schools abroad.
